ACOUSTIC STANDARDIZATION (440 HZ)
Concert Pitch A (440 Hz) is the bureaucratic ideal of sound. A sterile sine wave without destiny. It represents the attempt to lock unpredictable acoustics into a controllable grid. But in our laboratory, the rule is: Quality lies in deviation. Through the initial impulse (the transient), the wave acquires that noise and instability which forces pure frequency into truth. Only through the error does character emerge. The tone must “spit” (chiff) in order to breathe. A tone without this noise is merely a mathematical line. A tone with noise becomes a sculpture of air and time.
