MATERIAL MEMORY (ENTROPY)

Every casting process is a battle against chaos. This simulation visualizes structural defects in organ metal at the molecular level. An intruding particle forces cracks in the lattice, traumatizing the homogeneous system. The slow closing of the gaps is matter’s attempt to heal the disturbance through viscosity. But physically, there is no “forgetting.” Even if the surface appears closed again, the information of the displacement remains stored within. An invisible weak point in the structure—a molecular scar that permanently defines the vibration behavior.
